During a recent monthly HR Department meeting Deb Burke shared a thoughtful speech as she presented a co-worker with the "Team Award" for outstanding teamwork. We've paraphrased what she said:
"This team award is going to someone I want to recognize for his contributions as both an individual contributor and as a team player. I've worked with him on numerous projects and issues, ranging from simple to complex. I've observed his calm demeanor, humor, and ability to break down issues to help make them more logical and understandable. He knows when to sit back and listen and when to take the lead -- and is comfortable and confident in doing so.
I'm glad he's here, because I am a better HR team member as a result of working with and learning from him.
...this may be a little longer than the usual speech, but I want to truly acknowledge this individual's great analytical & technical skills and as well as his disposition. I think this comes from not only me but hopefully everyone in the room. I would like to present this to Kenneth Martin."
Now, this is high praise. Deb has a reputation for having high customer standards. That's one happy customer!
Cheers to Kenneth!
On a side note, "GIF" was the answer to a final Jeopardy question recently. This guy won:
